Developer Partners and Their Commitment to RenewableNY

We've partnered with three community solar developers to serve our campaign throughout our 15 county region. These developers were vetted through a competitive selection process for their companies' work and reputation, and their commitment to turning on projects for everyone who comes in through our campaign by May 1, 2018. They've also promised our campaign that if something happens out of their control and they can't turn on by that date, everyone will be offered the option to opt out at no cost.

Delaware River Solar

Delaware River Solar is a Community Solar developer. Its mission is to expand solar energy production in New York State and offer clean, renewable, locally produced power to anyone who wants it, without installing solar panels on your roof or property. DRS has been working hard for two years identifying sites for our solar farms and coordinating with the local communities to ensure solar development is of benefit to everyone - the municipalities, the customers, and the environment. DRS is proud to offer Community Solar across New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) territory and to partner with RenewableNY for this Solarize campaign. You can learn more about DRS from its website.

About DRS' RenewableNY partner projects:

The Town of Delaware has approved two community solar projects in Callicoon, NY which are being developed by Delaware River Solar. The first project will be built off Lahm Road (referred to as the Baer Road project) and the second on Hospital Road. Residents and businesses can elect to participate in one of these projects and receive a discount on their New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) bill.

Construction on the projects will begin soon and is expected to be completed by the end of this year. These two projects will serve approximately 700 homes and small businesses with clean, renewable, locally produced energy. The projects will benefit the Town of Delaware through reduced electric rates, additional tax revenue, and a reduction in the carbon footprint for the community.
